Paul Simon
From Bridge Over Troubled Water to Graceland
Paul Simon's life's work is packed with wonderful, totally
memorable classics. Whenever I listen to any of Paul Simon's
work I cannot resist the urge to sing along - and guess what?
I find, as if by accident, I know all the words. The Boxer
was always my favourite and then came along Graceland and
Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes took the number one spot...
But the whole Graceland album is simply... Struggling to find
the adjective... Delicious... Yes! Delicious fits. With Paul's
perfect enuciation it is as if he tastes each word for perfection...
His voice is pure and crystal clear. It is a beautiful voice
that expresses the bright light radiating from the great man.
I don't know how we can truly measure greatness, but in my
view, Paul Simon is a significant human being first and foremost.
It is just our luck that his medium of expression is music,
but had he been an artist, I believe his painting would have
offered his trademark crystal clarity with hints of greater
significance lying behind each paint stroke...
